Part 1 – Motivational Talks
Our alumni and students from Semmelweis University and the University of Veterinary Medicine shared their journeys — the challenges, the surprises, and the lessons learned along the way.
Speakers included:
- Renata Carvalho (Portugal) – “What I Wish I Had Known Before Starting to Study Medicine”
- Nada Benachour (Algeria), Samer Mosleh (Jordan), & Natan Mekonen (Ethiopia) – “From McDaniel to Semmelweis: Our Pre-Med Journey”
- The Ben-Ogbaini Siblings (Nigeria) – “Medical Students… Are the Stereotypes True?”
- Sania Zoorbakhsh (Iran) – “The International Mentoring Program and the International Student Experience”
- Argyroulla Michael (Cyprus) & Dea Leandri (France) – “Becoming a Vet: Our Honest Perspective”
Part 2 – Roundtable Discussions
An open and engaging Q&A session followed, where pre-med students connected directly with those now pursuing their medical and veterinary degrees.
It was a day of reflection, laughter, and community — a reminder of how the McDaniel Pre-Med Program continues to shape future doctors and veterinarians across the world.
To our alumni who joined us and shared their wisdom — thank you for inspiring the next generation!
